Which visa you need
Drivers who come to Poland for Code 95 training and then work in transport apply for a Polish national visa, type D. Unlike a short-stay Schengen visa (type C), a national visa is issued for a longer stay and for a specific purpose, such as work.
The purpose stated in your application must match your documents. This is why the invitation letter matters so much.
The invitation letter
We arrange the invitation letter for your application through the partner network of our partner school in Warsaw. It confirms the purpose of your stay and forms the basis of your visa application.
Who formally issues the letter depends on the route agreed for your case — we tell you before you apply, so that the purpose and the documents in your application are consistent.
Typical documents
Every consulate publishes its own checklist, and it can change. Use the official list for your location as the final reference. Typically, applicants need:
- A completed national visa application form
- A passport with sufficient validity and free pages, plus copies of previous visas
- A recent biometric photo
- The invitation letter and documents confirming the purpose of the stay
- Travel medical insurance for the required period
- Proof of accommodation for the start of your stay
- Proof of sufficient funds, if requested
- The visa fee
Where to apply
You normally apply in the country where you legally reside — for drivers in India at the visa application centre serving their region, for drivers living in the UAE in the Emirates, and for drivers in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan or Azerbaijan at the Polish consular office responsible for them.
Book your appointment early. Waiting times differ widely between cities and seasons, and the appointment date often decides your course start date.

After arrival in Poland
Once you arrive, a few formalities follow. The school and we guide you through them:
- Registration of your address (in Poland: zameldowanie), where required
- Medical and psychological tests for professional drivers
- Application for your digital tachograph driver card
- Start of the Code 95 course
Some documents from your home country may need a sworn translation into Polish (tłumaczenie przysięgłe). We tell you in advance which ones, so you can prepare them.
Working legally after the course
The legal basis for your work — work authorisation and employment contract — is arranged with your future employer. We explain your specific case in writing before you travel, so you know exactly on what basis you will work.

Can I travel on a tourist Schengen visa and do the course?
No. For training followed by work you need the correct national visa. A tourist visa does not allow you to work, and using the wrong visa can cause serious problems later.
How long does the visa take?
It depends on the consulate and the season. Appointment waiting times are often longer than the processing itself. We plan your course around realistic dates.
Can you guarantee the visa?
